Nicknamed the “Enduro Capital,” Costa Verde offers an astonishing variety of trails that guarantee a memorable off-road experience
The coastal hills around Viana do Castelo and the Minho region offer varied and rewarding terrain for enduro riding. The landscape mixes granite ridges, forest trails, and Atlantic valleys, with short climbs, quick descents, and consistent grip across changing conditions.
Granite country: Most hills — including Serra d’Arga and Monte de Santa Luzia — are solid granite. Expect excellent traction when dry and manageable grip when wet, with rock steps, roots, and natural single-track lines.
Water and gullies: Numerous streams and creek beds run down toward the Lima, Âncora, and Coura rivers. In winter, they bring wet crossings and mossy rock; in summer, dry, stony channels that test line choice and balance.
Riding zones:
Elevation: Low mountain terrain means short, repeat climbs rather than long ascents – ideal for all-day, interval-style riding across diverse surfaces and scenery.
As all other tracks North Portugal: it primes April - May and September - October. However, more flowy track we’ve build with exposure to wind and ocean breeze allows to ride during the summer, as temperatures are lower on the north and due to proximity to the ocean. As an extra bonus during summer - there is an option to have a swim on refreshing river beaches or even the ocean!
This region is a paradise for food lovers, known for its rich, rustic dishes and fresh local ingredients.
